Growing up, Lauren lived in nearly 20 different cities across the country as her father’s career in hotel management required her family to move frequently. These experiences helped Lauren become adaptable and outgoing in new and unfamiliar settings, which she attributes to her success as a networker. It was during this time that Lauren also attended her first networking events and even participated in business events for some of the largest global brands from around the world. One of Lauren’s long-term goals, studying at Oxford University in Oxford, England, came from this early exposure to international business relations, a goal she eventually achieved during her undergraduate studies when she secured a fellowship to study law under some of the leading legal minds in the world.

After earning her degree from the University of Miami School of Law, Lauren launched her legal career at a boutique litigation firm in Coral Gables where she represented and advised small business owners and individual clients in areas including employment law, complex commercial litigation, intellectual property law, labor and employment litigation, trust and estate law, real property law, and international law. Afterwards, she joined a larger legal team providing legal guidance and litigation support for large multinational corporation at both the state and federal level. With experience representing large corporate clients as well as individual small business owners, Lauren decided she wanted to empower entrepreneurs by providing cost-effective and cutting legal services from her own law firm.

At the age of 28, Lauren decided to join forces with her colleague, and longtime friend, Carolina Leyva and founded the law firm Marsicano + Leyva PLLC in 2016, where she applies her experience in business law to help clients navigate the legal process from formation to litigation and everything in between. As a young business owner, Lauren understands the challenges and rewards of starting a new venture and knows how overwhelming it can feel to start something new. She created Networking Maverick as a platform where entrepreneurs can discover networking opportunities, strategies for building a successful business, and find mentors. Through her monthly newsletter, upcoming YouTube channel interview series Networking Mavens, social media collaborations, and blog reviews of networking organizations and events, Lauren helps entrepreneurs discover important resources while having fun and making new connections along the way.

In 2018, Lauren was named a Top 40 Young Lawyer in the nation by the American Bar Association for dedication to her clients and craft as well as her service to the community. She has also appeared as a featured speaker for organizations such as the Miami Under 40 Power Hour, Business Networking International Miami, and the American Bar Young Lawyers Division.

When she isn’t working on projects for her clients, Lauren likes to travel abroad with her fiancé, attend fun and interesting networking events, maintain an active lifestyle, and shop at her favorite Miami small businesses. Lauren’s international networking adventures have taken her to Chile, England, Turkey, Italy, and, most recently, Japan, where she connected with local businesses and entrepreneurs, and she hopes the Networking Maverick community will provide every entrepreneur with the guidance and support they need to build their empires through authentic connections.
