Interview with Blo’s and Roses, Diana Hernandez
About six months ago, I met this amazing powerhouse female whose awesomeness and humility were so refreshing despite her creativity and innovative style having literally transformed the landscape of barbershops throughout South Florida. Diana Hernandez is a Designer, CEO, and mother all-in-one, and she was the chief vision and creative force behind the look of each and every location of The Spot Barbershop. With years of impressive experience as an industrial designer, art director, and business owner, Diana has expanded her portfolio once again with Blos·Roses.
Opening its services this week, Blos·Roses will officially be my new favorite place to get ready prior to my events, or to even just feel pampered. Not only are the aesthetics unique and innovative but so is this ambitious concept, and honestly, Diana and her team have nailed it. Giving you a blowout, mani, AND pedi at the same time in 60 minutes or less (mine personally only took around 40 minutes!).
Naturally, when I meet someone this amazing, I absolutely HAVE to learn more about them and just a little about how they do it. So I sat down with Diana and interviewed her about this amazing new concept! You can check out my YouTube video detailing the full indulgent experience fit for all of us Queenpreneurs and read more about Diana below. Happy Connecting!

Company mission/vision statement: Our philosophy is simple. We believe you shouldn’t have to compromise quality with time. That’s how Blos N Roses came about. Getting dolled up was never so easy!
What products/services do you provide?: Blos N Roses introduces the first combo chair where all 3 services can be performed at once: blow dry, manicure and pedicure . . . within 60 minutes!
What’s the “Why” behind your business?: As a business woman, I found a gap in the beauty industry where high quality and TIME are disconnected. This presented as a perfect opportunity for me to jump from the barbershop business and expand into the female category. I’m using my expertise in design to deliver more than just a service, my objective is to deliver an experience for every customer that comes through our doors.
What hurdles have you personally faced in building your business? How did you overcome them?: Building a business comes with many challenges not only financially yet also emotional. It’s taken over a year just for the buildout! We have been paying rent on a closed location for over 6 months . . . you cannot lose sight of why you started and you can't quit until it happens. Team up with the right people, have a financial budget, and grind, grind, grind! Just don't give up.
Describe how you stand out from others in your industry.: We are introducing a unique service . . . INNOVATION!
What are the best pieces of advice that you received from someone when you were starting out?: Have a business plan, set goals, and always have a check list!
What are the best pieces of advice that you would give to someone who is starting out in your industry?: Pay attention to the areas of improvement, look for innovation, don't be afraid to launch a crazy idea. Do your research and GO FOR IT!
Do you have a quote that you live by?: “The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds. Think big anyway.” - The Paradoxical Commandments
