NETWORKING EVENT REVIEW: Nest of Love Foundation’s “In the Life of” Panel
Best for: Anyone seeking to connect with and help empower other boss ladies while learning about interesting spots and small businesses in the community.
Overview: Nest of Love was created by Samantha Gil, and I think this was their first live panel event (from what I heard). They did a really great job choosing a unique venue and bringing value to the female empowerment movement. This panel discussion focused on four professional ladies in different industries and their stories of success and continued efforts to rise up and inspire other women in the community. Here is a breakdown of the panelists as described by Nest of Love:
Bethany Martinez, real estate agent in South Florida, has over five years of experience in Real Estate. After gaining so much knowledge from the field, Bethany started “Female’s for Profit”, which is an event dedicated to help women invest in themselves and promote others. Her goal is to educate women on how to become investors, business owners, and buying their first property. Follow her at @bethanymartinezpa
Melissa Gonzalez is a fitness entrepreneur in Miami who strives to impact others to achieve a healthy lifestyle. We all seek for connection and belonging, Mel G gives her followers just that. Through her social media accounts, she creates a community and inspires others to be the best the could be. Follow her at @melgfit as well as her newest project @fit.esteem
Yvette Ayala, Business Attorney at Rogero Law, has been determined to be an advocate and help others since she was a little girl. Her role in business law is to help business owners build their foundation, ensuring they are victorious! Yvette witnessed the barriers put forth by ones own self as they aim to achieve their goals in their career path. Thankfully, she is able to help women create successful businesses. Follow her at @esqapades
Diana Hernandez, CMO and Partner at @thespotbarbershop, has had a passion for designing since high school. After struggling to balance motherhood and work, she made the critical decision in becoming an entrepreneur for the sake of her family. Every day she inspires women and her very own daughter to never set limits, but to set goals and attain them. Follow her journey at @dknack_for_design
Who attends this event? There was a great mix among the 20-30 attendees, but the majority of the crowd were boss ladies in their 20s and 30s. Industries were varied as well, likely because of the great variety on the panel. The common interest among all in attendance is to help support and lift up other women in the community (as it should be!).
What is included? This event was free (yes, free), and included drinks and light bites.
Where is the event located? Location will vary, but this panel had the gorgeous and trendy look of The Spot Barbershop as the stage for the panel discussion.
When does it take place? This was held on February 18, 2019, with more to come soon.
Why should you go? As if you needed MORE of a reason other than empowering the community, I would attend another panel because of the great conversation you can have with the amazing panelists before and after the event. Plus, you get to experience local businesses you might not have otherwise been exposed to in your circle (a great way to push yourself and leave that comfort zone behind).

Insider Experience: Each of the panelists, while sitting in large barber chairs surrounded by exposed brick and an industrial vibe, brought a unique perspective to the table while discussing their personal lives, their careers, and their passion projects. The intimate and vibrant location added to the overall experience, and the fact that this event was FREE was absolute icing on the cake. Everyone, no matter their field, mentioned a key to success for them was building a deeper connection with people, whether with clients, followers, or members of the community. Because I was there early, I was lucky enough to connect and engage with each of the powerhouse panelists (who are each inspiring in their own right, including my friend Yvette), and I really did feel like I was networking in a “nest of love” surrounded by other ladies who wanted nothing more than to lift each other up. I also loved meeting the creator of the event, Samantha, and I can’t wait to see what she does next! Follow @nestofloveorg to stay in the know for their next event. #yourewelcome
